Most of you already know that I play music, but the other big hobby I have is rock climbing. And I’m not just talking about portable rock climbing walls, but rather the real rock climbing that most people don’t know about. Climbing is a great way to stay in shape and also improve physical conditioning. Not to mention it is just really fun. I could never stand for working out in a gym or running on a treadmill because I felt like I was standing still, both literally and figuratively. If you’ve ever been climbing you already know it is tough stuff. But you improve so fast that it is really encouraging. And the feeling that you get when you finally solve a difficult problem and reach the top of a boulder is unexplainable. I climbed for 45 minutes on my first visit, and I couldn’t wash a dish for a week. But on the second visit I was able to climb twice as long and didn’t hurt nearly as bad afterward. I strongly recommend the sport to anyone who has grown tired of regular gyms and still needs a way to get or stay in shape.
