I recently read an article about identity software theft and it opened my eyes to a new product called Paypal Plugin. I recommend that you all read this article and download this plugin as it is a great tool for protectingyour identity from being stolen while making purchases on and off the internet.

kirk kerkorian has finally sold off some of his shares in the multi-billion dollar Ford company. What does this mean for the rest of the Ford share holders? It looks like the value of the stock will drop drastically because of the move made by kirk kerkoria. He was one of the majority share holders and now that he has shown lost confidence in the stability of the stock, the rest will be soon to follow. There is usually a large impact on the market when someone that holds a largte portion of shares decides to sell.
kirk kerkorianhas made the best decision in my opinion as the dip in economy will continue until several months after the election. So by selling out now, kirk kerkorianis able to re-purchase the shares at a lower cost later. And a company as large and old as Ford is most likely going to come back to the top. So in the end kirk kerkorianwill actually profit from doing this.
Weekend Jam Session

I had a few friends over for a jam session an saturday last weekend, and it was a great success. It’s a great feeling when a bunch of friends get together and play music. We wrote a few new jams and plan on writing lyrics for them soon. The best part about the whole thing is that we didn’t have to spend but like $10 and 9 of us had a blast all night. This is why I strongly believe that next to land, a BBQ pit and an accoustic instrument are the two safest investments a person can make. I’m planning on putting up some of the recordings we make in the future, but that’s for later. For now I just wanted to say that nothing is better than good friends playing good music.
Song Writing

I started writing songs about 6 months ago, and just wanted to share a bit about my experiences so far.
First thing is always record everything you like. Even if you only like it a bit. Because nothing’s worse than losing a piece that may have someday been great. Remember that music evolves and changes as time passes, so what may be alright now could become much more in the future. So even if you don’t have great recording equipment, just buy some $10 usb mic and start recording.
Understand that everyone has different methods of writing songs. I personally seem to generally write the music first, and I write lyrics describing how the music makes me feel. I is kind of a way to express feelings in a way that requires more than just words. Don’t lose what you’ve started writing for any reason. I have a good friend that if he doesn’t finish the song in one sitting then it is lost forever because he gets discouraged and never winds up finishing it.
Whatever you do just find a method that suits you and that you’re comfortable with. If you have trouble with my method try something else. But don’t just quit. It takes time to be a good musician as well as it takes time to be a good song writer. So hang in and chill out.
Stupid Scraper Sites

I hat scraper sites so much!!!
Scraper sites are sites that steal content from other sites automatically, and use it to create another page on their site. I just recently had a scraper steal one of my posts about cosmetic contacts on another blog. It makes me so angry because even if I get them shut down for being illegitimate, there are another million still out there. I learned recently from a friend that one way to avoid scraping is to set wordpress posts to “partial feed”. To do this:
Log in to wp-admin and go to settings. There will be an option that says “for each article in a feed, show”. You want to choose summary in stead of full text. This prevents them from finding your post as easily so you won’t get scraped as often.
If you’re like me, then you don’t have a lot of time to waste on kicking these guys off the internet, so don’t. I do ask that if you see that you’re getting scraped, do something about it at least once. Collectively we may knock out a few of them. And it just feels good to stop people from making money from your creativity.
Acoustic Guitars

I have a beautiful Breedlove fullbodied acoustic guitar that I bought brand new about a year ago. It sounds awesome and is super loud. But I paid almost $900 for it. My suggestion is simple… Don’t ever buy a new acoustic guitar. The bottom line is that they sound better with age, and you pay less if you buy a used one. A good friend of mine bought a Taylor acoustic for only $600 and it is quite honestly the finest sounding guitarI’ve ever heard in my life. And that was over 5 years ago, so it’s not like they don’t last if you buy them used. It is all about how well you take care of them.
Also keep in mind that no 2 acoustic instruments sound the same. Two of the same Taylor body style are going to sound a little different as is the case with all hand made instruments. So don’t buy instruments online. You really need to play them before you buy them. especially if you’re going to spend a good bit of money on them. Because you may be stuck with it for a long time. A guitar should sound sweet to the ears because, in my opinion, the primary reason for music is to sooth. If you love your guitar’s sound, then you can make it last for decades.
Third buy a guitar with a finish. Hand rubbed guitars will sound the same as finished guitars, but will not hold up the same to changes in temperature or rough handling as well. Think of it like you do a clear coat on a vehichle. It absorbs the dings ans scratches so the actual wood doesn’t have to.
Niches

Niches are terms or keyword phrases that are searched often in google, but don’t have a lot of sites competing to rank in google. One example of this is cosmetic contacts. This specific phrase is searched 3600 times per month on average, and there is relatively little competition. Once you find a niche that you are going to use, you build a simple blog based around that and several other similar terms that you have some chance of ranking for. With the right links and content you will eventually get to first spot in google for those specific terms, and then you will be able to monetize the site. I’ll post later to discuss how to rank for key terms and what tools you’ll need in order to do so.
Colored Contacts

I’ve recently been thinking about getting some cosmetic contacts to change the color of my eyes. There are about a million different kinds, so it’s kind of difficult to decide what to get. I’m blonde with hazel eyes and kind of light skin, so I’m thinking about getting some that are green. I’ve switched back and forth from glasses to contacts every couple years since first grade, so the truth is I’ll probably get tired of them shortly anyway. I don’t know why people have such trouble deciding which option to use. I guess it’s because glasses suck and contacts are uncomfortable. I’ll post later to let everyone know how the contacts turn out.
Ciao!

Andy Gershon was president of V2 Records, but the most important moment in his career and probably what he’s most known for is discovering the Smashing Pumpkins. Andy Gershon has been involved with some pretty important record labels and has worked with bands including the White Stripes, The Crystal Method and Moby. He just recently became the Executive Vice President of Epic Records. Andy Gershon is super accomplished for someone so young.
Boss Day 2008

Boss day 2008 is a trend right now. This means that a lot of people are searching for this term in Google today. I am doing an experiment to see how fast a “hot trend” post will get indexed. I’ve never done this before so I hope it works. This is a brand new blog so it has never been indexed before. Boss day 2008 is a made up holiday when you’re supposed to get your boss something. I’m my own boss, so I got myself a sandwich. It was much appreciated.
It’s kind of ironic that I’m using Boss’s day to do this experiment since I don’t actually have a boss. But I’m pretty sure it will help get me indexed super fast. Notice I’m not monetizing this site because it would kind of be cheating. How fast your site is indexed is a major factor in how you do with certain niches.
I’ll post later to advise how this “boss day 2008″ experiment works out.
